Stella and Mick’s day showcased everything that is great about a city wedding ~ especially in a city like Leeds.
Shots set amid grand Victorian buildings and modern urban spaces…
The couple and their friends and families rocking up in a vintage red double-decker bus…
The newlyweds and guests watched by shoppers and friends enjoying a lazy Sunday lunch, as they stroll between ceremony and reception venue…
All this captured beautifully but unobtrusively ~ the couple didn’t want to be taken away from fun and friends ~ by photographer Susie Lawrence.
Oh and by the way, how radiant and beautiful is this bride?
Stella and Mick’s ceremony was at Leeds Civic Hall with a reception at the historic 3 Albion Place.
As Stella walked down the aisle a choir sang which was extra special because she had sung with many of the members when she was younger.
They chose a black tie and evening wear theme for their wedding, which was in keeping with the magnificent grade II listed Victorian reception venue. They wanted the look to be clean yet cosy, and well-lit so filled it with candles.
Stella put the ceremony and speeches among her most cherished moments and said of the reception: “Our food was great, the atmosphere was fun and our evening party rocked.”

Stella’s advice to other brides?
“Do what you can yourself – you will be really pleased with the results and have everything how you want it. Enjoy yourself because it goes really quickly. Listen to recommendations and do what’s easy for you. Think about what you both like and stick to your own taste.”
The cool couple ~ who met when Mick cut Stella’s hair in his salon ~ kept to the city theme with their honeymoon, travelling to London then Paris.
♥ Idea to steal ~ Stella and Mick used the bus to take them and their families to the ceremony venue. Stella travelled with her bridesmaids and close family and friends, which gave their wedding a fun and relaxed atmosphere right from the start.
