Loved the crocheted mats: you can often pick these up in charity shops for next to nothing as fell out of fashion in this minimalistic age, but wonder if the paper doilies might tear too easily, if being wrapped round jam jars and when placed near heated objects if there might be a fire risk?
How easy did your contributors find it to prepare these, or were they all crocheted mats rather than actual doilies?
    All beautifully created anyway!

Hi Elaine, you’re right, as I said in yesterday’s post there’s no shortage of doilies in charity shops for less than £1. The doilies round jam jars are fabric not paper so should be safe; as for whether paper doilies will tear I hope readers will try these projects and let us know!
