Real wedding with a touching story: Rebecca and Neil

“Love is a friendship which has caught fire.” That is the perfect description wedding photographer Cat Hepple attached to Rebecca and Neil’s relationship.

It sums this couple up perfectly: this couple who were friends for years without daring to reveal how they really felt about each other. This couple who are clearly so in love and were surrounded by such warmth from family and friends on their special day.

The romantic pair put a great deal of thought into the details and made many themselves. Their style – classic but modern – was a perfect match with their venue, Oulton Hall, a Grade II listed, mid-18th Century mansion near Leeds now converted into a luxury hotel.

Cat perfectly catches the moment the bride and groom were told they were husband and wife.

Their idea for favours was so sweet – and so easy to steal. They made a cone from the score of their first dance and filled it with bonbons and hydrangea petals. They also made the table plan and name place cards.

Their tables were named after important places to the couple, including Roundhay Park in Leeds – where they had their first date and where Neil proposed – the top table, of course.

Rebecca paid a beautiful and fitting tribute to her beloved late Nana. All the blooms she chose for her bouquet and bridesmaids’ flowers were grown in her Nana’s garden.

Rebecca’s garter also had great significance. Attached to it was tiny piece of her Mum’s wedding gown and her Nana’s ring.

Rebecca looked stunning in her Benjamin Roberts gown from Gowns UK, Leeds.

Neil’s family have strong connections with Northumberland and he wore a kilt which harks back to the Border Reivers.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Charlton – you make a beautiful couple and I wish you every happiness in the future. And thank you to the lovely Cat Hepple Photography for sharing.

Absolutely gorgeous! Love all the personal touches. Beautiful venue too, although I would say that since we got married there too 🙂
Can’t wait for the next one! x
