Introducing… Victoria Made

The couture cakes designed and made by Sheffield-based Victoria Made really are imaginative, innovative and intricate creations.

Here Victoria Watkin-Jones explains her approach to cake-making which leads to these beautifully-sculpted, truly unique designs.

“I’d like to think my approach is a little different, steering clear of the traditional ribbon clad wedding cake. My designs might not be to everyone’s taste but I feel I offer another option to those wanting something a tad more contemporary.

“From cracking the egg right through to delivery I do it all, making the whole process very personal. One thing I will never do is churn identikit wedding cakes out – quality and originality over quantity every time!”

Victoria learned to bake with her nan and for a number of years pursued careers as a chef/catering manager and in the public sector. Eventually the urge to do something creative took over and she spent a few years making cakes alongside her work before launching full-time in 2011. As well as cakes and cupcakes, Victoria can also make cookies and favours.

She said: “The chance to do something I love and be creative is fantastic – as time goes on and you evolve the more ideas come to you so I’m never bored.”

Her advice to couples planning their wedding?

“Don’t be afraid of doing something different – there are too many identikit weddings out there and there are plenty of talented and creative suppliers out there who can help.”
