Papakata teepees ~ for an extraordinary and eco-friendly wedding

If I could do my wedding again, I would do it in a Papakata tent. These wonderful teepees create such a different kind of party space that is sure to wow your guests.

It’s a way of bringing glamour to the great outdoors; ‘glamping’ but on a much grander scale. It’s like camping or cooking out ~ but with a heavy helping of class. You can have furs and a fire pit.

Richard and Amanda set up Papakata, based near York, in 2006, after failing to find a marquee that they felt was special enough for their wedding. They fell for the Kata tents, which are in a style pioneered by the Sami people of Lapland ~ and brides and grooms have been doing the same ever since.

Even better, the tents are eco-friendly ~ made out of natural materials wherever possible and Papakata try to be carbon neutral, so they plant enough trees to compensate for the carbon released during the planning, holding and packing up of every event.

♥ Get along to Papakata’s open weekend on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th October, at Escrick Park Estate, Escrick, YO19 6EA ♥
