I recently met the lovely Phoebe Miller at a tweet-up she organised for a few industry folk. We had a very pleasant time sipping mulled wine and sharing ideas and experiences at Tasty, Leeds.

Phoebe is a wedding planner for Leeds-based Miller Weddings. She added me to her 2011 ‘lovely’ list ~ how sweet is that?

This lady has a wicked sense of humour and a faultless sense of style. So when she lists her ‘trends for 2012’ you listen. Shhh.

Phoebe says two main trends are emerging: bright and muted. But either way, colour palettes are elegant, sophisticated and interesting.

♥ Grey and white ~ softer than classic monochrome {done so well in this real wedding}, this is elegant, clean and versatile. Accent with muted tones of mink, blush and taupe or add some colour with yellow or green.

Real wedding… An English country garden theme made special with vintage finds and DIY

There are so many aspects to Charlotte and Mike’s English country garden wedding that make it special and personal, so I’m excited to share it with you.

The couple were married at the magnificent minster in Beverley, East Yorkshire, and could walk from there to the reception in a marquee in Charlotte’s parents garden. For months before the celebration, Charlotte’s Dad lovingly tended and prepared the garden while she and her mum scoured local charity shops and car boot sales to add authentic vintage touches to their garden party theme.
